"The true mystery of the world is the visible, not the invisible."
Oscar Wilde
As an artist and a photographer, I strive to capture the individual beauty of each person. I don't believe in forcing the sitter into unnatural poses or an unnatural environment, rather, I like to take the time to observe how a person holds themselves. These gestures displayed both in body language and facial gestures start to set one subject apart from the next. This provides the framework in which I begin to photograph.
I often hear people say that they are not photogenic. This is a myth. It is the individual's ability to let their guard down and trust the photographer that leads to an interesting image of the sitter. It is my job to see and capture the moment when the authentic self is revealed. That is true beauty.
